Plastic injection machines create plasticizer smoke and fumes during the release of the mold or material fed through an extruder. The smoke & fumes typically are in excess of 80 mg/m3 of sub-micron emissions.
The Solution
The Absolent A-Smoke (ODR Series) is ideal for handling these emissions with large coalescing fiber bed filters designed for heavy emissions these collectors operate for a minimum of two-years without filter changes or maintenance. As the smoke & fumes condense they form an oily deposit on the fiber beds that allows for the coalescing build up and release on the face of the filters. Oil is reclaimed through the plenum through a gravity p-trap or automatic pump back system integral in the unit inlet plenum
Case Study
Customer located in South Florida sought out a solution to eliminate fumes and plastic smoke generated by (6) plastic injection molding machines. They were looking to replace an exhaust fan with a mist/smoke collector that could operate with continuous operation and low maintenance. They selected an Absolent ODR-3000 (A-Smoke) for it’s exceptional collection efficiency and maximum filter life. The ODR-3000 system was installed with pre-fabricated ductwork and inline volume control butterfly dampers on each drop. Anticipated filter life is 2-3 years. The system eliminated 100% of the smoke and fumes in the manufacturing facility.stomer located in South Florida sought out a solution to eliminate fumes and plastic smoke generated by (6) plastic injection molding machines.
