Alstom was seeking a manufacturer that could customize their 8' x 8' welding booths for the new training center. Requirements included: it has to preform outstanding; it also has to look high end. They required HEPA filtration as the final filter for stainless steel welding. The two options considered were welding booths ducted to a central collector outside or the dual booths with independent collectors mounted directly on top. The choice was the independent collectors on top for two main reasons:
1. Don't have to run all the large booths at once.
2. No overhead ducting, no building penetrations and no hindering overhead lighting.
Avani designed the dual 8' x 8' welding booths with a top mounted collector and final HEPA filter module. The booths have no exposed pipes or electrical conduit inside as they are integral inside the booth walls. All controls to start and stop are in each booth. Each booth has adjustable work table and a welder shelve. '
Options available that were not chosen were fixtures and automatic start and stop of the system.
